While looking for mushrooms last weekend up at Buttle Lake we also had the opportunity to do some weather watching. On the coast, the skies were blue and cloudless. Heading west from Campbell River towards the Buttle Lake corridor of Strathcona Provincial Park we were apprehensive about the look of the sky. Fortunately, though the skies were dramatic, we managed to walk both the Karst Creek Trail and the Ralph River campground before the clouds socked in and the rain began in earnest.

Great shots.

Beautiful skies and I love the big clouds. but when the weather moves in from the coast then you better start moving too. MB
Our mountains truly drop into the sea (and lakes) in this part of the world. I invite you to come see my clearing skies. – Margy
Yes, I think those clouds in the bottom photo would get my attention. Great SkyWatching.

Beautiful shots. Great contribution to skywatch Friday.
Maybe that bad weather is time to head home, but what an awesome picture you got from it. Incredible!
