Spider

Went out to the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds today and walked the trails along Dove Creek. At one point the trail leaves the side of the creek and starts to circle back toward the exhibition grounds. The path emerges from the woods and follows the edge of a field. This morning the fence line was decorated with countless spider webs, each tended by a patient spider sitting in its centre. A lot of people don’t like spiders. I think that if you look a little closer and get to know them they really are quite beautiful.

  1. Beautiful shot, Dave. I was in bellingham over the weekend and the female orb spiders were busily constructing webs that morning after the evening rain.

  2. Thanks Tim – it is definitely the season of the spiders! The webs are quite spectacular right now and they seem to be everywhere.
