By picking paths carefully, and driving slowly over the worst spots, I'm never afraid of damaging my car. There are some great trails up if you park lower well worth enjoying, but the road should be passable for all but the lowest of vehicles.

I take my Honda Civic up there year after year in all but snowy weather to climb. We decided to drive because of time constraints and having to pack the kids in backpacks since they're too young for a hike like this. We walked a little distance along the road up to the summit and enjoyed the big trees...

I agree – the better way would have been to hike to the top of the hill following the road up or taking a trail to the top. To drive up to the top would miss a lot of the vegetation and odd animal scampering out of the way...

I went up there a few years back, and we parked at a much lower elevation, and hiked up this road.

The hike up and down was quite pleasant, we just took our time both ways. It's definitely worth the trip and we would have liked to have had a little more time to explore and look for plants but with our two kids under 3 on board it was challenging enough to take a look around and take a few photographs. I'm not sure if BC Parks has the road graded later in the season but there were definitely a couple places that were challenging for vehicles with low clearance - SUVs should have no problem (although we did talk with one couple with a SUV who parked further down the hill because they bottomed out).
