Big Day Birding – Brant Wildlife Festival

One of the fun activities associated with the annual Brant Wildlife Festival is the Big Day Birding competition. Groups of birders work together to find and count the most birds over the course of a big day. The winning team takes home prizes and claims bragging rights.

Saturday, April 10

5 a.m. to 3 p.m. counting
3:30 p.m. post count gathering (Shelley Hall) Shelley Road, Parksville
$20 per person

Enter your team for a chance to test your abilities at finding birds. Great prizes and a good time awaits at the post count gathering. Here lists are tallied, prizes awarded, stories told and dinner served to flocks of hungry birders. Deadline for entering is April 1, 2010.

When you register, your team will receive a Big Day Birding package via e-mail that includes a list of birding Hot Spots in the count area.

All participants get a chance to win the Grand Prize Draw. Teams win prizes for the Most Species, Most Species Green, Bird of the Day, Best Team Spirit, Story of the Day, Big Sit, and Big Miss.
