And the Moss Shall Inherit the Earth

Moss on Curb
Moss on Curb

During my walks from the house to the library or the grocery store I noticed a little community of moss hard at work breaking down an old cement curb that used to be the base for a wrought iron fence. It gave me some hope that nature is never quite finished with the things that we build to celebrate our delusions of importance. I imagine that long after we’re gone, moss will still be chipping away at our creations.

Nice to know.

  1. Hi Dave,

Any idea what type of moss this is? Pretty sure it is the same type we spotted on our Rosewall Creek hike. It was growing on the cement wall as we were walking underneath the hwy bridge.
